The Bands!
SXSW would be nothing without the hundreds of bands that come from all over the globe to Austin for a chance to rock out. While a complete list of the bands that will be in the SXSW bill will probably not be released until early February we will be bringing you here the sounds of Austin locals along with other musicians that will be in town regardless if they make it into the official SXSW bill or not in the mean time. We hope to get a complete list of bands that will be in town as fast as possible along with a complete schedule of all the bands and the unofficial parties they will be participating in. As soon as an official list is released we will be in contact with all or as many of the bands as humanly possible and as fast as possible to compile a complete list of any other parties they will be playing at along with locations times and any additional info that may be necessary such as how to RSVP until then please listen to the following musicians and bands.

It is hard not to think of good Austin local metal bands and not have Estrum mentioned. It is hard to believe this band has been promoting themselves online for about a year and yet they have made great achievements both online, and in the real world. Achievements such as, according to MySpace's Top Artists, Estrum has reached the #1 unsigned progressive band from Texas. And the #3 unsigned progressive band in the world! So far they have a fan base of over 25,000 myspace friends and over 175,000 plays.

If your into nice dirty sex rock that contain a deeper hardcore meaning than look out for Tungsten Coil at South By Southwest this year and you will not be disappointed. Tungsten Coil does a nice job of keeping there songs cleaning by not falling to the overused vulgarity of today's mainstream music instead they leave you to imagine the great dirty scenes that are no doubt being described by this bands amazing lyrics.
Want to hear something that is constantly evolving for the better? Asleep, Audience...Dream! does just that as they never seem to stick to a very specific genre for to long. This band has an very nice edge as it strives to outperform itself as the band moves perfectly in and out of normality.
