SXSW Crazy!

SO I had a fun time last night saw a few good shows that I still need to write about and put songs for but that a job for a later day. So i just woke up It’s day 2 and man am I sore. Today im leaving behind my big heavy casual shoes and trading them in for some converse. Today I will be out passing flyers again so if you see me please take them and remember that your helping to feed a college student. Oh and if you need flyers pass out give me a call at 512 317 8452. SO its Wednesday here in Austin and that means that SXSW music is pouring in to the streets from every direction and parking is impossible to find. Day 1 started with me rushing downtown at 1 to meet up with Robert Mattocks from ProducedByDuece.com so he can give me some flyers and cards to pass out during SXSW. So my first gig was to pass out 75 free downloads gift cards from Lala.com at the radio room. So off I go. I must say something from attending 3 past SXSW years this was the first time I saw it this pack this early into the week/day. it was barely 2pm AND ALREADY 6TH ST WAS JAM PACK, lines were already starting to form and all the major venues and the Radio Room was no exception lucky for me I was able to walk right in after I showed the LALA gift cards. Inside i was surprised to find and already eager and full room of people waiting to devour the music being pump into the atmosphere. it was insane and it was only 2. I stuck around for a while not really listening in to bands just doing my job passing out the cards and conversing with people cant say much for this showcase except that people were eagerly waiting in line for a band called Super Drive. Might have to check them out later if so many people were willing to wait for them.

Next up I headed to Bayou on 6th street where I walking in on “Julie The Band”. Did not see to much of them but they were good and were cool people they sing the cd for me so props for that. Im on a mission to collect as many flyers and cds to post on my wall and ceiling as I can.

I will post a few songs from there CD in a later blog since I will be honest im intruged by their name

So next up was Linden this band amaze the hell out of me. For a band full of such young musicians,which none of which could have gotten into the club if it wasn’t that they were playing there (21+) Still this band has the right amount of pop rock to keep me mesmerize. The drummer of this band is amazing for only being 20 I think he has a bright future ahead of him if he keeps at it. After such a good performance today I’m sad that this was the last show they played at South By. They have to make it all the way to Wisconsin to hit the studio. Its alright I just hope to see them hit Austin again soon. I think this band has a bright future ahead of itself with such dedication cause I know if I were in their shoes I would be temted to party it all week long instead of hitting the recording studio.
